Civitas Announces New Directors
WASHINGTON — Civitas Public Affairs Group announced today three promotions. Chris Cordingley, Rubab Hassan, and Nathan Smith have been promoted to Director—a newly-created position within the company.
“As our firm has grown, it became clear that we needed another senior tier within our staffing structure, one that falls between Senior Associate and Principal. We are so pleased to announce the Director position within Civitas and to see Chris, Rubab, and Nathan take on this significant role,” said Katherine Grainger, Managing Partner at Civitas.
As a way to recognize the continued growth of Civitas' team and the important client work being driven by its staff, the firm recently created the new tier of Director. Staff at this level will serve as key leaders on client projects, business development, and senior project management. Cordingley, Hassan, and Smith have been promoted to this position as a recognition of their work delivering a number of key wins and successes over the past several years. Cordingley has worked at Civitas since 2013, while Hassan and Smith have worked at the firm since 2021 and 2018 respectively.
“We are thrilled to be named Directors at Civitas and to take on a heightened level of responsibility within the firm,” said Cordingley, Hassan, and Smith. “Working collaboratively with our clients to expand their impact and reach is an honor, and we look forward to leading on even more of that work in this new role.”
“Chris, Rubab, and Nathan have done tremendous work at Civitas for our clients over the years. We’re excited to announce this new role and to see these three continue to lead in their careers at the firm,” said Bill Smith, Founding Partner at Civitas.
The internal promotions come at an exciting time for the firm, which continues to grow its staff and client base. The firm recently announced Joseph Arroyo as a new Senior Associate.
