Autism Speaks Working To Encourage Congress to Pass A National Plan on Autism

Today, the CDC released new data with regard to the prevalence of autism in the U.S., identifying 1 in 68 children (1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls) as having an autism spectrum disorder. Autism Speaks is working tirelessly to encourage Congress to pass a national plan on Autism.

Prevalence of Autism Rises

“Behind each of these numbers is a person living with autism,” said Autism Speaks President Liz Feld. “Autism is a pressing public health crisis that must be prioritized at the national level. We need a comprehensive strategy that includes the research community, policymakers, educators, and caregivers coming together to address our community’s needs across the lifespan.”
