Civitas Goes West!
Civitas is expanding west and has opened a Denver office.
For the last three years, I have had the opportunity to run our Washington, DC office while leading our client work to build bipartisan coalitions and strategies for gun violence prevention, money-in-politics reform, eliminating the rape kit backlog, voter engagement, and several other state-based efforts.
I’m excited to be back in my hometown and joined by Charlotte Wilson, a native Montanan, who also moved from our Washington, DC office and will serve as a project manager.
This past election reinforced what we’ve always known, that winning on any issue requires building momentum from the ground up. Our experience is rooted in engaging at the state level. It’s how we’ve effectively driven positive change on behalf of our clients. States have always been the laboratory of democracy, and along with the Chicago midwest office that opened two years ago, the Denver office is helping expand our footprint in the west to drive change and gain traction on the issues we care about.
Civitas was founded five years ago with the goal of utilizing our shared experience in the marriage equality movement to make a difference on other issues of great importance. During this time, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with the nation’s leading foundations, philanthropists, and nonprofits with a national presence, and we’re just getting started.
