Joseph Arroyo is a senior associate at Civitas Public Affairs Group. He brings a wealth of experience in managing federal, state, and local legislative campaigns. His experience includes coalition management, community organizing, and program development.
Most recently, Joseph served as the associate director of local government affairs at Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun safety organization. At Everytown, he developed the first-ever fact sheet on the impact of gun violence in the Latino community. Joseph also managed Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a national coalition of mayors advocating for gun safety policies and programs, including efforts to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first meaningful federal gun safety law in nearly thirty years.
Prior to his work at Everytown, Joseph worked as the national director of LGBTQ+ outreach for the Bloomberg 2020 presidential campaign. Joseph also held positions as a field director at Equality California and at Houston Unites, as well as deputy field director for Mainers United, the first ballot measure campaign to win same-sex marriage in the country.
Joseph studied political science at New York University and is a proud Angeleno & Chicano residing in Brooklyn, NY.
