The right to marry the person you love is fundamental to so many people’s pursuit of happiness and fulfillment – and today millions more can share in it because of successful efforts we helped drive. Along with dignity and respect, marriage conveys a vast array of legal and economic protections and responsibilities. Bringing the freedom to marry to so many has made a profound difference in people’s lives and exemplifies that expanding justice and freedom continues to be possible in our country.

So much of functioning representation in government - up and down the ballot - depends on quality candidates. Civitas was able to see the need and create a national, coordinated strategy that would tackle disparities in representation and improve the quality of candidates and outcomes.

Addressing climate change must be a bipartisan effort if the United States is going to be able to drive and sustain common sense solutions that meet the moment. Civitas has worked for much of the last decade to bring policymakers, business leaders, and nonprofits across the political spectrum together to tackle this important challenge.
