RUBAB HASSAN

Rubab Hassan (she/her) is a director at Civitas Public Affairs with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of gender and racial justice and democracy reform. Rubab’s work is centered on bridging the gap between policy, culture, and power.

At Civitas, Rubab advises on strategy development, coalition management, grantmaking, and policy campaigns for partners in the philanthropy and nonprofit sectors. She is a skilled facilitator who advises clients on how they can connect the dots between strategy and implementation and has experience leading advocacy and policy efforts at the federal, state, and local levels.

Prior to Civitas, Rubab worked as a communications specialist at an NGO working to advance financial inclusion for underserved communities. Rubab also worked as a consultant at High Lantern Group, where she built and led multi-sector coalitions focused on advancing equitable caregiving and mental health policies. Before her career in consulting, Rubab supported social impact and global leadership development programs at Eisenhower Fellowships.

Rubab holds a Master’s Degree in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Middle Eastern Studies from Rutgers University. She also served as a Fulbright scholar in Turkey. Rubab was born in Pakistan and raised in New Jersey. She is fluent in Urdu.
