Sonya Desai is an associate at Civitas Public Affairs Group. In her role, she provides policy and strategy development support and project management to the firm's clients.

Prior to joining Civitas, Sonya was an account executive at Ogilvy where she worked on public relations and strategic communications for several healthcare clients. As a policy assistant at the American Academy of Nursing her work included COVID-19, Black maternal health, environmental health, and other critical health issues. Additionally, Sonya worked as the Deputy Finance Director at Advanced Network Strategies where she managed the political fundraising for members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sonya holds degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice from The George Washington University. A native of New Jersey, she enjoys watching indie movies and reading fiction. She is fluent in Gujarati and currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
